Using Tackk

The Spanish teacher told me about Tackk.  Since I wanted the computer science students to reflect on their assignments, I decided to have them post them to a Tackk.  It seemed to work well for the computer science students.  I thought, why not try it out with the math students.  This did not work so well.  The math students forgot to include hashtags so I could not find all of their Tackks.  For the final phase of the project, I handed each student a link to a Google Doc so I could organize all of the assignments and make sure that I grade all of them.  We will see if they all can follow directions.

My New Year's Resolution

My New Year's resolution was to start a blog about teaching computer science.  I am participating in a webinar about wikis and blogs so what a perfect time to start a blog.

I attended Edcamp IE last weekend.  It was a great event.  One participant suggested that teacher's should discuss copyright before the students use web sources in any of their assignments.  My students will be creating a collage with digital media.  I have decided to create a Powtoon for them to view before they choose their media.  We will see how this works.
